Wow it sure is heating up in here! First off Andrew Van Slee nor any of the Judges know Jessica Sanchez. Furthermore there is no guarantee that Jessica or any of the other finalists will make the Top 6. There is no SCAM, there is no getting rich here folks. We make very little money off advertising on the site and we also have made very little money off of text messaging. So the people that are making these comments are just sour because they didn't make the finals, or they think there is some sort of conspiracy going on. The truth will be told when 6 of the most talented, based on votes and judges picks, will be announced in a few days. The competition we run is FREE to enter. It's free to upload videos and free to set up a profile. On top of that, we pay to fly 6 in from wherever they are and put them in a hotel, feed them and give them studio time in a world class facility. All at no cost to the entrant! So let's keep things into perspective here. Our goals is to find the best talent, put them in a studio and make wonderful music. DO IT YOURSELF, HOW TO CHEAT ON VOTING -- I think I had to make a stand, and expose this procedure once and for all. I discovered this once, but I never used this procedure because I don't have the ample time to reconnect to the net. I am usually on the go with my job as an art instructor. And most of all, I support clean and honest competition, that's why I really calls for the elimination of popularity voting and rating in any form, either through text or online, with competitions like TPS..... IT IS REAL EASY TO CHEAT in this way... The procedure is so simple that you would be able to vote more than once or twice a day. Again, I doubt, some others have discoevred this and might be taking advantage to cheat. Sorry, but I guess I have to expose this procedure so that TPS could fixed this. Sorry TOTAL POPSTAR, I emailed you, but you never replied. So I was posting this now because I think people had the right to know. Curious? Okay on with it... I was logged in at TPS voting for my favorite contestant when my sister requested me to disconnect from the Internet. We had only one line for internet connection, and she needed the line to connect through her office via her laptop. About 30 or 40 minutes later, I reconnect and found out that I could vote again! (I guess this has something to do with resetting the browser every 30 minutes or so). I never have thought that would be possible, until I discovered it accidentally. For those people who had the luxury of time to reconnect to the internet every hour or so for the whole day, then you might be tempted to give votes 20 times, 10 to 20 hours a day if you recconect to TOTAL POPSTAR every 30 minutes or 1 hour (logged in or not). That's an ample one. And if you ask at least 4 more friends to do that, then that's 100 a day. Sorry, I have to unearth this procedure as I'm afraid somebody might be dealing with this. But I guess this won't be counted as votes in the end. So you see, voting were not really a reliable basis when it comes to competitions like this. If these things happen during Political/ Presidential campaigns and elections, what more to competitions like Total Popstar. I know I'll be risking my reputation, my career, and my talents career (those performers, talents, models that are connected with me). But it's just that I can't stand what is happening now, i just want all these things straightened up by these mere lessons. I'm keeping my stand, and strongly suggest that TPS should eliminate voting system in any form in any competitions such as this. This happens in the past (at least in our country, that's why I really hate voting system, especially thru text and online), and it would happen over and over again, if people handling these matters are not professional or competitive enough to sort out massive votes...

Well it certainly would seem that there is a lot of programming that needs to be done because not only did I make over a thousand votes but I have been entered into the 2nd season and I never even entered!!!

Kyle: Just wanted to say that there is no distinction between "top 6 " and "final 6" the rules clearly state that the JUDGES would deliberate the top 6 to be flown to Hollywood and that they would take the vote count into CONSIDERATION. There is absolutely NO mention of "TOP 6" vs "FINAL 6" . MANNY: I agree totally that the site should drum up sponsorship to offset costs...and eliminate the current voting system. I also feel that whoever the top dog is in running this competition should step forward.....accept the responsibility of a voting catastrophe and abide by the rules THEY instilled. Quit making adjustments and radical changes without any kind of notice. It seems so underhanded (for lack of a better term) to build the hopes and dreams of these contestants, just to rip the rug out from under them. Make the voting fair for "rich" and "poor" alike....if you are going to have it at all !!!!

Thanks for all the comments. Season 1 has ended. Anyone who was in season 1 who did not make the finals needs to re-enter season 2 if they want. All votes, including the finalists were set to "0". Anyone who wants to enter season 2 will start at "0" votes. How would it be fair for you to carry your votes over to season 2? As for the finalists, there are 4 days in which people re-vote so we can get a real idea of who people are really interested in. We are gageing this by votes. So there is no rocket science here. Since it's our first finals we are working through everything and it's a bit hard because there is so much programming to be done, but we are working through it! So go for it! Vote in your favorite finalist or enter TPS 2. Best of luck to everyone in the finals! TPS Admin

Hello I was wondering why I never made the finalist with over 1300 votes? I know for a fact there are people who are listed on your finalists pages who had fewer votes than me and I'm hoping some one can explain what's going on with that?

Kyle N. Having said that... Would you rather put the blame on those people who's handling the database for creating so much errors and issues? I hate blaming games, but in a big production such as this that entails a lot of money, sombody has to take responsibility for all these, what would you call 'em, gltich? I guess I have to agree with you that Andrew Van Slee, Debbie Gibson, and Joey Laurence are big people and they wouldn't want to risk their reputation on an what most has been considering this as an alleged scam, if ever this is true. But somebody must have to take responsibility into all these, and Total Popstar might have to fire that somebody who handles the voting system and voting verification for being reckless, for as we all know, these ratings and voting has created a lot of issues in the past. And now it comes to the edge, it plays havoc and confuses all contestants and supporters alike. I think somebody more competent must handle this things now, and somebody must be fired. Don't ever let this happen again in SEASON 2!!!!

I must say I am a little disappointed in how this is all ending. I don't mind that I am not a finalist but that this is all so confusing and alot of people seem to have some very hurt feelings. Mistrust is an ugly thing to carry and I know that this is not something that TPS wants. I am not ready to cry foul but I would like to know why my votes were taken away for 'this' season. If I must move on and keep trying in season two I am willing to do that because this is about the chance to sing to me. But, by all accounts I don't like to feel like I am being taken advantage of either. Since this seems to be the place to voice dismay I thought I would chime in and give my half-a-cent. To all those that made the finals I am geninuely sorry your victory has been diminished because I think each judges choice for the finals was the right one. There are alot of talented people here at TPS and I am positive that if these people don't recognize you, if you keep trying someone will. "Dreams do come true but only if you keep dreaming". And my final point , if it is a glitch in the computer then things happen and we all know that;if it is human error that is something that happens as well but if it is politics then that is wrong. This is about finding the best talent and I think you have chosen a great pool of people but I don't want my efforts diminished so you can play politics. This was suppose to be a simple online contest and for some reason it has turned very ugly and I am sad about that. :(That's all I have to say about that) ;)

I agree about making the votintg fair too long these music business people have messed around with peoples votes on these shows i think if one show did the right thing by people instead of the company bank balance they would get a lot more people coming forward as most of us artist are disenchanted with the hand in glove and secretive way these contest can be run and i for 1 dont want a single nickle of my fans being way laid or a single vote for me going stray as i work hard and thats why people will vote for me but if its all messed up and an inside job then they can forget it so if you are reading producers i mean then please a fair and straight up game will be the gaame that ultyimately wins the peoples favour and i know that you know that mean bank balance my friends so p[lease dont waste our or your time with half measures if a things worth doing its worth doing right or not at all

ASHTON & ASHTON'S MOM --- As you can see, TPS voting system is in real jeopardy right now. The text votes and online votes are quite mixed up. Even though they disabled now the online votings for FINALISTS, still the old SEASON 1 online votes seems getting in the way. It's not constant, votings are not stable yet... Scores keeps on changing hour after hour. So I must say again, I would call for TPS, or I would suggest that they eliminate the text voting or voting on any form (online votes) they could eliminate them for Season 2, but for now, I think they should eliminate text voting, and be fair to all contestants, especially to those outside United States who cannot place text votes locally. And I suggest that they disable both text and online voting temporarily until the total scores had been stable. I think the newer text votes are playing jeopardy to the scores, like resetting each time. So I call upon contestants just to make sure, call upon your friends not to vote until the voting system stabilizes and until further notice. We aren't really sure what's going on, and it pays to be real safe, or you're hard earned work will all be put to waste. As I have said, voting system for any competition, may it tbe arts, music, film , theatre, dance, literature or any form of the 7 arts is the most inconsistent and irrelevant basis for scores. TOP TOTAL POPSTAR>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>I suggest that you would just have to stick to your criteria for judging a good talent just like what you're doing in criticizing each contestants in their shows. At least, by giving out your constructive criticisms in each show, we are sure that your are playing it right and fair, and the contestants really get something that they desreved. So again, I would call for you to please eliminate TEXT and ONLINE voting especially at SEASON 2. AMERICAN IDOL doesn't have that and doesn't depend on that voting system, and so why can't you? If you need money to compensate your production costs, look for an advertiser or a sponsor. I believe by playing it fair and right, you can gain support and trust, not only from people, but bigger companies too that will provide you your needs. So that's the main difference between TOTAL POPSTAR and AMERICAN IDOL, AMERICAN IDOL is a trusted show, that's why it reached millions of viewers around the world. And TPS, I don't know yet... I only came to know TPS through a friend, and I never knew that there are real good talents here until I joined the site................ .........So again, I would suggest for the next SEASON(S), eliminate your voting system, gather the best contestants and choose the best 100 them trim down to 90, then 70, until you picked the TOP 6 when the season ends. Judge acordingly on each show, and we would see that everythings fair and judged by talent and not by popularity votes>>>>>>>> MANNY DE GUZMAN, JR. To my downrating haters: I WILL NEVER GIVE UP NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO:) And I think you are forgetting that its not the video votes that gets you to the final:) But then: If anyone outside of the USA gets to the final,they got no chanse of winning anyway! Unless they got 1000000000000 friends in the USA! But then again:: it is quite stupid to win a contest because you got many friends and NOT for your talent! TPS chould pick the winners, not the votes!

good Lawd OSCAR...er, peter...er, freddy...er whichever personality you are at the moment, GIVE IT UP ALREADY!!! to jessica sanchez - i APPLAUD you for actually being able to keep quiet while you are being torn to pieces on this site! it must be incredibly difficult not to come on here and defend yourself! albeit, the HATER i truly believe is the work of ONE individual (maybe two). but as kyle just eloquently put it, its better to "zip it up" and let it all play out on its own! you have been nothing but gracious and being one of your THOUSANDS of subscribers on YouTube, i know you have fantastic relationships with some of the contestants on here namely Angela Lynn, Krista, Thia, Ryan, Dawn, Emily, Gary among all the others i probably missed! you've even swapped "take a bow" videos with Krista and featuring each other on your sites...AWESOME!!! and your video with Ryan singing "No Air" - off da chain baby...ya'll are close to having 200,000 views on that video alone in just two weeks!!! keep up the great work ya'll and don't pay no attention to our MULTIPLE PERSONALITY friend that gets off by trying to convince people of his idiotic theories!

kyle.. thank you for taking the time to address my question. i understand you are just speculating like everyone else but i asked you because i have seen you are very knowledgeable in your field. i agree that everyone needs to hang in there and wait it out. i have watched a few people's votes already go back to normal today. i also agree for the time being... lets all just sit back and watch the amazing talent that we have here at TPS. my best wishes to all the contestants.

I like all of you have spent a small fortune in voting and from the beginning also had a disbelieving feeling about this whole contest. Did not like the fact that Andrew VanSlee had changed so many rules without explanation and all the royal treatment for Jessica Sanchez to whom he obviously new already before the contest even began. First the contest would end in February and the voting period for the finalist would be early January, then that was changed. Then he put a minimium age of 14 and then after complaints he puts 13 . Now clearly Jessica and a few others are not even 13, I think it is Bria, Thia and Jessica who should not be eligible, and again he see all the questions about this here and NO RESPONSE. If there was technical or computer issues, then why not drop a note here to assure everyone things will be okay, UNPROFESSIONAL ANDREW!!!! Poor Angela-Lynn the niced most sportman like contestant here loses most of her votes and the CHEATER in my book Jessica Sanchez gets all her dishonest ones back . Tell me that is fair. Poor Quincy below has lost everything and withdrawn herself. Complete SHAME ON YOU TPS and Andrew VanSLEE, you clearly look like your out here to promote Jessica Sanchez and make a buck from the poor working class people of this country. I think everyone shouls stop texting and making Mr. VanSlee a little richer and delaying the wonderful contestants of this contest.

I have to agree with Jerry here, Wow, as this mini episode is titled "Getting Hot In Here". We all have questions and I feel as good as TPS has been that they will address this issue as soon as they can. Let's be patient, I was a finalist too and now on my page I am back to 300 or so votes and listed as a Season 2 contestant which I am not, I don't want to do this again. So TPS really shouldn't have started Season 2 until the winner of Season 1 was crowned. There has been questions since the beginning and many have been brought up here in the "peanut gallery" but we have to be patient and wait this out.

I had sent an email to TPS for an explanation as to why people were cut from the finals, but I had no idea it had gotten so heated. Just not sure TPS can really know who has what votes. This is what I have observed. Yesterday when all this started, I wrote down each and eveyone in the top 30 scores. To much to type, But I will use Ashton as an example. WHen season 1 ended, He had 2345 votes. I did recieve an e-mail back saying that all 30 contestants went back to 0 to even the playing grounds. (I am not even sure TPS knows this is happening. Anyway, when we got up yesterday, Ashton had 1683 votes. We reached out to youtube and sent emails and he got his votes up to 1860. Then out o nowhere, his votes went to 705. I was at a loss. Then I started seeing alot o people's votes went back to very close to where their votes had been during season 1. Did not think it was possible in less than 24 hours 4 people to get what took 9 months to get in votes. So, I keep looking on the site as to what was going on on season 2. I had noticed that some top 30 people had uploaded new vids 4 season 2, and their votes were back or close to back to the original amount. So I uploaded a video 4 season 2. Guess what happened. Ashton's votes went rom (that letter is broke on my computer, Sorry) Anyway, votes went _rom 717 to 2568. Which is where they would be with his 2345 at the end o season 1 plus the almost 200 he got yesterday. Does this make since? So TPS is not cheating people out o votes, I think it is a site problem, trying to transition _rom season 1 to season 2. The problem is, i they really are going to pick the ones with the highest scores. and they wanted everyone to start at 0 and this did not work, and people have been reaching out 4 votes since yesterday, I see no way they can truly know what the contestants votes actually are. i really feel bad for all the contestants on here! all ya'll worked hard on your individual pages in promoting yourselves and the passion you are showing with your comments here proves how dedicated you are to your talent. you all are to be commended! i was quite a bit miffed yesterday to the point where i had to get down and dirty but as i said, i, along with many thousands of other people that have come on this site to support it feels as if we're getting the rug pulled from right under our legs and it just doesn't feel right. i understand that it is the weekend and that the tps staff may not be in the office. i also understand that the mass email that went out last night with the whole TEXT ONLY sham was probably set up as an automatic email to go out this weekend because if it wasn't, tps definitely should have addressed the issue they are currently having. but the bottom line is tps has a HUGE PR problem on their plate right now and i'm very interested in how they are going to try to spin and resolve this. even though i don't wish this upon any web business, i sincerely hope that some idiot just hack into the site and threw a wrench in it enough to stir things up. again, i hope all the contestants find some sort of peace in the end, ya'lls talent really impressed a bunch of us! TOMORROW will be tps's d-day, the success of season one and of all possible future seasons will heavily depend on how they try to explain this away.

Oh and about the text voting thing, someone here mentioned that only texted voting will remain for season 2. I should still have most of my votes because most of them were done through texts. I went up to strangers saying I'm in a singing competition, sing for them, get them 2 text their votes right then and there! I didn't have much considering I started just late April, and I had 1,046 votes..I mustve gotten like 20 votes on here and the rest r texts!They've made over $1,015 dollars on me there..Now Imagine for the rest of us who got thousands and thousands of text votes! That's a lot of money 2 give to TPS! I wonder who's still a fool to keep having ppl text their votes for them!

Sky why do you keep asking Kyle who is picking the 6 finalists? He doesn't know any more than you do. He is speculating like the rest of us. Everyone knows something is off. Until they address this NO ONE knows what is going on.We do know though that the judges aren't judging because they have jobs they are on now. Jobs are booked in advance. They knew they would not be available in June. So they are in name only. Mr Van Slee is the judge because it is his website. Kyle is speculating.

I think we've all answered our questions about TPS, they're just gold digging scammers and we all fell for it! No wonder it was too good 2 b true. i spent good hard earned money on my favorite contestant, who when the season ended had almost 7700 votes, now shes down to a little over 3000??? where are the rest of her HARD EARNED votes?? where is an explanation for all this? why are they starting season 2 when they havent even finished season 1?? im sorry.. regarless if this is a glitch in the system or not, TPS handled this very unprofessional... they should have sent out an e-mail(like they did asking for more text votes ha) explaining the problems to everyone. if they did that, maybe they wouldnt have people questioning their credibility!!! I dont understand why finalists votes were reset in the first place? none of this makes any sense... funny how the 3 favorites Jessica S, Rebecca S, and Krista N have ALL of their votes back already hmmmm and its easy for people who havent lost any of their votes to sit back and SAY CHILL OUT, sorry but when people are losing thousands of votes with no explanation... theres a problem there.

So, some of the deserving finalists are back (and so does some who aren't deserving for me)... But is this the final pick? I think I knew now what was going on -- perhaps Kyle was right, TPS are verifying the votes wheteher it is valid or not, and they should do the verifying offline.In the process they should have disabled the voting and rating just like in YouTube when they are doing their site maintenance. This is to avoid some complications and discrepancies resulting to confusions. But as you can see, and as I had observed, I can still vote and rate during the times of "would be" verifications, playing joepardy on each profile as I placed each vote. TPS should've been careful not to reset the values while their verification were still ongoing. But as i have said, the damage is done and I'm concerned on how TPS would address thousands of angry contestants and supporters. Calling Total Popstar staff or system analysts,any new TPS episode which might explain all this? I hope you could post a new one soon, or you'll lose respect from viewers, supporters or contestants. As I have said, I had high respect for TPS and your avid fan. But if you would fail to defend yourself, then I would might just resort to thinking that Total Popstar picks and voting system are unreliable. If that ever happens, I think more and more contestants will leave TPS. I for one wouldn't dare to enter my talents as contestants in the next season. Please correct the voting and rating system, if ever it has errors... Or you might consider eliminating text votes as ythe basis for qualificaitons and popularity. I really find it non-consistent as of these very moment....

All the information is stored in data bases so it's safe. Validation and Certification of Clicked Votes is much easier and faster than that of Text'd in Votes from Fans, Family and Friends. Eventually it will all be sorted out as far as Vote Counts and Finalists. from what we have seen, if you had any text votes season 1, they allowed us to keep them for season 2, I had 8 people text me and I still had my 80 votes...however though a lot of people are missing from the finalist pages, and if the final 6 are picked by being text voted, shouldn't all the finalist no matter who they are have the opportunity to be one of the 6????? Or did they pick the top 30 out of the finalist and that is what we all have to chose from. this has gotten overly confusing. It has been nice to at least to meet some very nice, talented people, many who have turned into friends here on TPS. Good Luck to everyone.

Prior to what happened, I had 1024 votes, but when I woke up yesterday morning, I noticed that I was no longer a finalist, and my vote count dropped to 241. I e-mailed info@totalpopstar.co m, and I sent a message from the website at the contact page. Anxiously waiting the entire length of the day, no one replied. At 6:30pm est, I said enough of this and removed all of my videos, along with my personal bio. Why? Because I felt scammed! I Quincy spent a month promoting herself, whereas I spent 3 months e-mailing family and friends, especially my dad doing most of the promoting, getting his friends. collegues and co-workers to help support . If 50 people voted by phone, thats 500 votes, but TPS made 50 easy bucks. It doesnt sound like a scam when you remain a finalist, but when you're stripped of it for no reason, it certainly makes you feel that way after all that hard work. Now its the end of the season...they reset my votes to 0, remove me from finalist status, and wish me luck in season 2. They might as well just say to you "dont forget to have all your family and friends vote for you again and get yourself into finalist status quicker by having them vote for you by phone so we can suck more money out of everyone". No, they didnt say that, but apparently thats how one feels when you attempt to contact the site several times and allow the entire day to pass but no one e-mails you back yet have the nerve to send out a broadcast e-mail asking everyone to vote for their favorite finalist after being stripped from it.

Oh and another thing..this contest is open to EVERYONE around the world right?...and you can be any age, 13 and over..I've just observed that these people are definitely making money off of all of us FOOLS!! first of all, if TPS is better than American Idol, then why would they waste people's time stating that ANYBODY 13 yrs old and up can enter and upload vids..etc..come on ppl..they are using that rule "anybody can enter the contest" because the MORE people that enter, what does that bring them??...more money!!!..it's all starting to make sense. If anybody of you have GOOGLED "total pop star" yet, you'll find articles saying that the contest started in November of 2007, and the WINNER was to be announced on January of 2008. Well, we are in June now!! Why do you think they extended it? To make more money on all of us!..Made no goddamn sense to me all of this till now. I hope you great singers in here do realize what you've gotten urself into, and well, let's all learn from it. I've met many asshole producers in this business from the wannabe's to the big ones, they'll make u do anything to get to where u want to be, but I'm not that type of girl who gets down and dirty.I'd rather take a long time to reach fame, then to sleep with producers to get to the big thing.NO THANKS! ANYWAY, I doubt we'll ever get any explanation and I doubt there will actually be a TOTAL POP STAR WINNER!! As far as the TPS site goes, I've tried to keep a low profile because I wanted to get votes based off of my talent and not how much I chatter on the site. Right or wrong, it was my own strategy. But I gotta say: Dudes....CHILL OUT!!! Do you realize that you've all been spending the entire day and your energy getting worked up over pure speculation as to the events that have transpired in the past 24 hours and nothing more than speculation? So much so as some of you getting to the point of threating other people on these posts? Seriously...what the he11??? To those of you threating other people who post here: go back to your parents basement and play your video games. I (as well as many other contestants who are reading these posts) have a LOT more to gain or lose by what is going on. Most of bad mouthing of TPS isn't even coming from contestants. Yet I (and I hope my fellow contestants) am taking solice in the fact that this is a technical glitch and nothing more. Think about it, folks. Do you really think all these people, including Mr. Van Slee, would put their name on something so public if it was really set up to be a scam??? Use your brains, people. This contest is being put on by an independent company. Of course they need revenue. Isn't that why businesses are in business in the first place?? However, dont' you think that they realize they have a TON more $$ to gain by picking a winner with some real talent? I would stake an awful lot on the fact that they can make a lot more $$ on the winner being a success than how many text votes come in. This contest is not a scam and those of you who think TPS is nothing more than a revenue generating scam have clearly never had a basic business, economic or math course...and if you did, you clearly didn't pay attention. To all of you guys and to TOTAL POPSTAR... I'm really concerned about what is happening now as I've put a lot of efforts promoting my choice of contestants here. Unlike any typical supporter or TPS visitors, I edited songs and videos for TPS contestants and promoted them here. I was also promoting our local Filipino talents. If you care enough to check out these videos I posted, please do so. having said so, I share the same fears, doubts and misery as most of the unpriviledge contestants here. So please decline the idea that i'm being biased with my comments, because these are all being conceptualized and structured prior to posting... If I didn't care about all of you and Total Popstar, I wouldn't be up for 23 hours now, observing and waiting for further developments. But soon, I'll retire and be back few hours later. I haven't slept all night, thinking all about this and all solutions that I'm suggesting to solve these issues. I have sacrificed my work for one day for these, because I feel I'm part of these issues at Total Popstar, because I'm an avid fan and supporter of TPS. My only wish that TPS would straightened these out if ever there's really some discrepancies. As for now, some things remained doubtfull for typical contestants and supporters. Some were stilll searching for answwers, and many are still confused. I hope TPS would give us a valid explanation. Kyle, you're explanation on this matter is outstanding, and it shows that these are your expertise on the field. But I think people still deserves an explanation coming from Total Popstar staffs and judges. So I hope these would be in the way soon....

I have been a fan of TPS for some time now and have been enjoying the immense talent in the competition. I have, however, had a bad feeling about this from the beginning that I couldn't quite put my finger on. You know, when you get that little nagging feeling in your gut that something just isn't right? Well, it seems that this nagging feeling has proven true. TPS IS A SCAM!!!!! This is nothing more than a money-making venture for the judges, producers and everyone else involved - that is everyone but the contestants. They have misled these poor contestants with misrepresentation and it is nothing short of CRUEL. HOW COULD THEY BE SO RUTHLESS? They led everyone to believe that the voting system was used to get them into the final round and that the top 6 would be picked by the judges themselves. Whether or not this was the intended procedure, it was the one that was represented to the contestants. Now, after the first phase is over, they wipe out the votes and put up a message saying that you now have to VOTE for the top 6!!!! Well, well, well. Now, you can win TPS if you are financially able to win it. So why not call the competition "Who can Buy Their Dream" or something like that? If this was legitimate, why would they wipe out the votes at all? Why wouldn't they leave them up and let the voting just continue? It makes no sense!!!! That's because IT IS A SCAM!!!!! SHAME ON THEM!!!! Joey Lawrence and Debbie Gibson - EXTREME SHAME ON YOU!!! How can you both lend your "celebrity" to a scam like this? I truly hope that you both are making a nice penny off of this because I truly doubt that anyone reputable will want anything to do with either of you after this. Your names are forever tarnished and SO THEY SHOULD BE!!! I just cannot get over the audacity of all involved in TPS. I feel so badly for the contestants who have given so much of themselves and who have gone through this competition in such a great way (with the exception of a few mentally challenged ones). There is some really huge talent out there and I applaud all of you. You all have done a great job and you deserve high praise!!!! I guess you just have to look at this as a life lesson - another one. This business obviously is cut throat and you have to have a thick coat and a high ambition. Many of you do and I know will make it out there, despite scams like this. Please, please, please don't let this taint your faith in yourselves. The greed of others has nothing to do with you. Keep on singing and all of your dreams will come true!!!!! As for this scam, I believe it needs to be exposed. I am sure they have gone through the proper legal channels so as to avoid lawsuits, but that doesn't mean they can't be exposed and they should be - through word-of-mouth, the media (news shows, like "Shame on You" in NYC), chat rooms, etc. What really irks me too is that they have the nerve to compare themselves to American Idol!!!!!!! American Idol should sue them for slander!!!!! I sincerely hope that I am wrong in all of this because if I'm not, it is a damn shame. Again, there is some great talent out there who, in the end, are the ones who were taken for a ride and it just is not right!!!! They did nothing to deserve this, except have a dream. I hope these TPS people are able to look themselves in the mirror and sleep at night.

Thanks Kyle... I'm not contesting Jessica S. But I cannot say either that I'm supporting her. What I'm really after is the fairness of this competition. And I'm just a bit confused. I had to ask one more question, though. I must say I'm among the first people who login after Season 1 ended. And I'm among the 1st ones to discover that voting was reset (time zones in your country and mine is different. Half the world might be sleeping when I login TPS about 5:00 Hours GMT yesterday, 1:00 in the afternoon in my country, late night time in the U.S. So I think most people in the U.S. are asleep when I voted for my favorite contestants, and found out that the voting system was reset). My question is on Jessica S. and other contestants --- their votes seems not consistent at first. I was first to vote for BRIA K. and her votes reset to 790, though the word "FINALIST" marked on her profile page. And now, she's down to just 445. Then I voted for ARIEL M., TAYLOR M. and others that I favored, and the same results. And now, just about 5 hours later, their votes are different. Curious, I voted for Jessica S. and she was reset to 1,800 votes, landing her on the 3rd page of Finalists. And now she's on the edge once more leading with over 10,000 votes. And earlier, when I clicked on directly a contestant's photo on the TOP PICKS finalist on TPS Homepage, it doesn't tally when I viewed the profile on "VIEW ALL FINALISTS" page. For example: When I clicked Jessica's photo on the Top Picks, it would show 1,800 votes, and she's on the 3rd page. but when I clicked her profile videos, the vote would show over 10,000 votes. Anyway, I guess it tallies now, but the weird thing happened hours earlier. Could you please explain this to justify the validity of these votes for those people in doubt or those badly shaken "WOULD-BE" FINALISTS that were reset to zero? And how about those FINALISTS who made it, but residing outside the United States? Would it be unfair and costly for them to provide votes they need through International Texting? Would it be worth the price? Hope you could answer these, because these questions might be the same one for those who cannot voice themselves out, and I might as well represent them. I must represent those contestants who are afraid to be kicked out of TPS if they protested. I'm not a contestant, so it's okay for me to risk myself into this. @Manny Not too difficult for me to explain for you. The Webmaster and crew here literally have 1000's of pages, that need to be transitioned to the new season. Click Votes are verified locally (so they are fast) and Text'd Votes require off site verification. Depending on whether they allow both older and newer Cell phones (new Encrypted Java Transactions (un-hackable J2ME Phones) to Text'd in Votes would dictate how quickly that process is done. On the Finals page now, the only votes that are included (until validation procedures are resumed for Text'd in Votes during week days) are CLICKED VOTES! Personally, I am amazed they are able to keep this site open 24/7 doing maintenance on the fly (Not even YouTube or Google can do this). The Webmaster and his Crew are doing all they can to get things sorted out! Where I would have just closed the site down for Maintenance! ....Applaud Them!!! They are doing a remarkable job here. ***** Most likely on Monday, the people that need those Text'd in Votes (to go with Click Votes) will be Certified and moved into the Finals Section! *** As far as the three girls at top presently; all three including Jessica Sanchez, Krista, and Rebecca S. have the YouTube Subscriptions of real fans, at least over 5000 with more than or close to a Million hits on their YouTube Channels. They all three do heavy promotions and if you go to each one of the girl's YouTube Channels it clear their fans love them. **** Yes I will attest to the fact that Jessica's Mom may be a bit overly protective and deletes derogatory comments (some of mine included, which weren't derogatory at all). But that's her prerogative as a parent of a 12yr (and Mom is Filipino I believe)!!!! **** The fact is Jessica whether we like it or not, has many fans and friends on YouTube and beyond all over the Worldand only got about 2000 of her Votes from friends, family, and fans doing it. She has been in the public eye on shows from age 9 at the Philadelphia Freedom Club with Whoopi Goldberg hosting. She's been on America's Got Talent and numerous other shows. She's probably as much of a Pro as any talent here and whether she is full blooded Pinoy shouldn't make a difference in how you or any Philippines views her! .....in fact you should all be proud that Stars (or potential stars) like her and Charice Pempengco spread the passion and talent of your native land around the world! **** Now as far as Krista goes she has a different style being more Country Music, but she too has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that she is bonified Star Material with mostly Click Votes as well as a monster fan base of support. **** Rebecca S. recently not only won 500 Votes from Original Song Contest, but another 800 Votes from the Click Ad Promotion that were just applied. She too has on of the Largest Fan Bases on any contestant here on YouTube. She is an incredible self promoter and now rates in the Top 9 of all Musicians in the U.K.!!!! I support people who've been at this Singing thing since they were very YOUNG. True some are still YOUNG, but doesn't make any of them less talented! ***** I just people would quite with this or that conspiracy theory or degrading anybody they may support, because we should be supporting the Talent above all and that includes many that aren't in this list and the 3 above ; Gina G, Angela-Lynn, Thia, Emily, Shanta', Ashton, Darrion, Colton, Taylor, lillemy1, Destinee Q, Lambert and I could just go on and on!!! **** For me when this is all said n done we will have a Unique International Web Based Talent Discovery and Launch Site running year around!!! .....these people here want TPS to be a success (believe me), because if it's a success, they are a success. $$$$$ So why would they take any Payola to promote inferior talent (and I can tell right now Andrew doesn't need to work. He does it because he loves it)? Dear Minh, I know you must be inundated with angry people,however, the PopStar people are not following their own rules. First, Joey Lawrence and Debbie Gibson knew they had other committments so why is Mr Vander Slee lying and saying that they are judges. That is false advertising.Second, We were promised that the people we supported with votes would get those votes. I and others spent a chunk of change on texting votes in. 10 votes per call. The person I supported had over 2800 votes at closing time. Then this morning there was a massive mess with the vote counts. Everyone lost thousands of votes in the final tally. Also, we were suppose to get a vote for every click.These were not added to our persons tally. Now this evening we noticed more than 60 people off the finalists list. What is going on? The fact that the finalist votes are only allowed to be texted is not in the rules originally established. Are the finalists chosen by this vote or by Mr Vander Slee. It is evident that he used Joey and Debbie in name only as judges. All of this is false advertising and almost like a scam to make money off of the text votes when Pop Star didn't even give our person the votes in the end. It would behoove Mr Vander Slee to do a mini episode on all of this to make all of us out here clear on all of these issues because it is looking more like a scam every minute.These are all talented people who have supporters spending their time and money trying to support their people and these Pop Star people are not going by their own rules. What's up? We would like to know.

He says that they are going to pick the top 6... now on the main page it says to text vote to get your favorite finalist in the top 6. WHATS GOING ON HERE? What if people dont have the FINANCIAL means to have people text for them?? Does that mean they are screwed? And in the About the competition section it also states the judges are going to pick... Why the change all of a sudden? I really wish TPS would step in and explain this.....

...And mind you, ladies and gentlemen. Placing International text votes for FOREIGN FINALISTS might be too costly than the price of $150,00 US Dollars. now would it be worth the price. Still, the win is 50/50... What if a contestant has invested on say 50, 000 votes which cost like double or triple the rates for International text votes (costing like $100,000 US Dollars), then your big bucks will be put to waste (LoL). Is it worth the price? What if she didn't win?

If you can still recall, the voting and rating system discrepancies were first noticed on TPS EPISODE #14, MASTERPICE THEATRE>>>> Genevieve on March 11, 2008, has posted something about contestant JENNIFER TORREJON, who's a clear rival of Jessica Sanchez on that show. What happened to that girl anyway?..... Then on EPISODE #17, GUITAR HERO, the heat continues to rise up with ModernSinger questioning Jessica Sanchez validity of entry at TPS. And on EPISODE #19, RICAHRD FINDS LOVE EPISOE, TPSadmin who introduced himself as TPS Site Director saves Jessica S. from haters and urged them to leave her alone... ...And also, if voting for a SEASON 1 FINALIST were only available through text votings, then this would really be a game or competition for the rich and the famous! I appeal to TOTAL POPSTAR, please be fair and consider all the hardworks of those deserving contestants, especially those FINALISTS who were reverted back to zero. Not all are that popular, not all can afford to buy prepaid cards to text their votes in, but others might be lucky enough to be rich and buy votes. I know this, because It happens before to a contest i know (I'm a former talent manager of one singer/ model, and a supporter of one local singer/ actress who won in a competition with text voting as a basis. A lot of people protested after the winners are announced. Don't let this happen to TPS. I had great deal of respect to TPS judges and contestants. So I appeal to TPS admin, please consider my opinion. I might represent contenders who's afraid to voiced themselves out, as they might have the same opinion. Again, I would reiterate my point for the next Total Popstar Season 2... If TPS can't fixed or make their ratings and voting system reliable, I hope they would eliminate them and just concentrate on the conventional criteria for judging the contestants based on their talent capabilities, and not by their popularity. It is proven that text or online votings has a lot of discrepancies, like buying text votes through service providers. It would be fairer if TPS would state the criteria such as VOCALS AND MUSICALITY, STAGE PRESENCE, VIDEO/ PERFORMANCE IMPACT, DICTION/ ENUNCIATION, ETC.... Then gather the best performers based on these criterias and pick the top 100 months before the finals and trim down to Top 80, 60, 40 and so on, until they reached TOP 6, and the finals. I guess that would be much fairer to all. This is just my suggestion, and I hope TPS would consider this as an alternative in case they couldn't find a way to fix their ratings and voting systems. I think popularity and voting systems might be biased in some ways to some, so please think about these. I hope things would be better this Season 2, so as to gather more supporters, viewers and more contestants. Well, I'm still logged and observing... Check out the TOP PICKS FINALISTS on Total Popstar main page: The votes in accordance to rank doesn't match and inconsistent... ELIMINATE VOTING IN ANY FORM in any talent search such as this, and just base the choices on talents and performance criteria. I hope TPS would do this on the next season. But for now, I guess it's too late, the damage has been done and I doubt if ever the votes will be recalled and consistent. This is chaos, and I don't know if TPS could ever address thousands of angry contestants. I just hope they could provide a better explanation soon, or TPS would be compared to those tabloids singing competition and would be a flop, I wish not because I have been an avid fan and supporter of TPS. But this........

So now guys, I hope you'll have to agree with my previous posts that POPULARITY VOTES and RATINGS should be eliminated in every contests, may it be online or on TV. As I have said, contests like this should rely much on the talents and performance perse, and not on Popularity votes and ratings. I know this would have a lot of discrepancies as this happened to a TV Singing contest in our country before where a lot of people and contestants protested. I know this would happen over and over again, as I find Text or online voting is the most inconsistent of all, and popularity ratings aren't that reliable either. We can do nothing about this unless TPS finds a solution or correct this one, if ever there's a glitch in their database. We might as well wait until they give us their views on what is happening. For now, let's just hope that those who entered the finals are all deserving... Good day people, I got to retire now to bed... It's wee hours at dawn in my country (4 am). I just hope when I wake up that these nightmares for all of you are over. As for me, I'll still support those people I've been helping the past few months, and since I signed up in this competition, may they be TPS FINALISTS or not, I don't really care... sorry ...forgot to add (imo) the rules state that the contestants has to be OVER 13 yrs old. Therefore, they should have already been 13 yrs. on the date of entering. The rules should have .at least ,stated that said contestant would have to reach the required age within a certain time frame (such as 30 days) Too much inconsistency.

Regarding the age of contestants....if they in fact had waivers signed by parents...the terms/rules should have been amended to show that those younger than the required age could enter with parents permission. It seems a bit selective to keep the information under wraps and only divulged to those already entered. So many questions/so little answers. Again, one can only hope that these "errors" are corrected for the following seasons.

To ASHTON: Again, I will be basing this on my observation as I notice this happens the first time I voted for my favorte FINALIST minutes after Season 1 ends... Most of them got over 1000 votes, but after i voted, they decline to less than a thousand... Bria K. for example got at least 1200 and up votes, and after I voted for her, it became 790... I'm not sure how this happens, but the only thing that I'm sure of that the voting has been reset. So if a bonafide FINALIST with a "finalist" word embedded on his page and was reset to zero, then that means he would have to had to start all over again and has a lot of catching up to do with other FINALIST. But though he got that bad, he's still a finalist and still got chances to be on TOP 6 as compared to over a thousand or 2,000 votes with no "finalist" word embedded in their profile. So ASHTON was still very lucky to have 1800 votes remained, and you should be thankful for that. Please don't hate me, I'm just trying to give you the most rational answer I could give, because i doubt Total Popstar would ever answer those questions in the next TPS episode. Let's just wait for their messages to come in our EMAILS and if they would be nice enough to answer our questions. But for now, this is the best rational thing i could share based on my observation, as I'm one among the very first ones to login the site after TPS Season 1 ended (it is late at nigh in your country when I login this afternoon in my country).... i believe total pop star owes the contestants some sort of explanation of what is happening. how did rebecca s., krista n., jessica s. and colton just disappear from the radar? they, along with all the others that have been downgraded must be disheartened. i know they're listed in the top finalists on the home page but still, are you telling me that all the contestant's hard work and dedication to helping building this site, promoting this site, not to mention earning votes was for nothing? and now the only way it seems to vote in the finals is via TEXT only? why even text and spend money when the judges are the ones who will ultimately make the final decision as to whom the top 6 are going to be regardless of vote count? something just doesn't seem right. please TOTAL POP STAR, put out some sort of explanation in your "NEWS AND UPDATES" section to let contestants, supporters and fans alike know what the heck is going on. we haven't come and supported your site for the last 6 months to be treated like this at the end. if you're going to knock votes down, zero everyone out and make it an even playing field. this just doesn't make any sense. additionally, to the ONE or TWO individuals that have created NUMEROUS account after account after account dedicated solely to try and create a negative image of jessica s., you guys have officially become stalkers, you seem to know A LOT jessica...BEWARE girl! we know that you have one of the largest followings here on this site with nearly 10,000 youtube subscribers, i'm with thia m. when she told you to keep your head up chica, we got your back! i would like to think that everyone here is intelligent enough to know the game the HATERS play.

Even if your votes reached a thousand today, i don't think it would be counted for this season. I think only those with "FINALIST" embedded at their page would benefit from the additional votes they would be getting either by text or online votes. As I have observed, the votes has been reset, and Total Popstar has picked the lucky ones.

I personally feel Jessica sanchez has been getting special treatment and been getting votes unfairly and think she is way too immature to be in this competition. I think Ashton is old enough and a fair player. I think singers like Shanta', Angela-Lynn and Gina are the best here and what a Totalpopstar should be, and if Ashton makes the top six I will be very happy. Could anyone answer this question? I know everyone is not sure about what happened with the votes. The cheating thing can not be right. Ashton got his votes honestly. But i_ you notice, Some people who are on the Judges top pick page do not have 1000+ votes. But under their name they are considered a _inalist (that letter is broke on my keyboard) anyway, then you actually go to the _inalist pages and those people are not there. So what does this mean? And oh, I discovered one thing more in contrary to my previous post and observation>>>>> You might still be able to vote your favorite TPS finalssts by clicking any of their videos on their page. The "VOTE ONLY THROUGH TEXT" appears on a FINALIST'S page, but once you clicked any of the videos, you could find the VOTE parameters to be clickable allowing you to vote once more. But I haven't verified yet if this would be counted and added to number of TOTAL VOTES for each finalists.

To all those who are not satisfied with my answer(s) better ask Kyle L. I just followed what he suggested on the previous episodes. For the record, I too am reset to zero. I am not cheating, and i do not care if my votes are reset to zero (I have 496 votes from those who believes in my goals and ideals)... I do not really care if i was reset to zero because I'm not a contestant but a mere supporter. I'm not saying that cheaters are reset. All those who are not picked by the judges as finalists are either reset or remained. But those who are lucky has embedded the term "FINALIST" on their page, and won't allow you to vote online, only on text votes. This is what i observed since i logged in my account 7 hours ago and voted for my choice of contestant with over 1000 votes. I was surprised when I click vote, it was reset to 100. I tried this to other contestants having 1000 and above votes, and the results where the same. Either their votes remain on top, reset to zero, or maintian 1000. I guess I was the first on this site when the season ends because half the world are sleeping when i first login about 12 hours ago (5:00 Hours GMT, 1:00 pm Philippine Local Time), I guess it was nightime in your areas in the United States, and it's 1:00 in the afternoon in my country, and I'm the first one to notice this. Sorry if I offended many of you TPS contestants, but this is just my observation. To those of you who haven't tried this yet, try voting for your favorite contestants, and find out if their votes will be reset or if they could maintain their votes. The result would be the ones they deserved.... Again, I suggest You ask Kyle L. about his previous comments on voting and Vote Generators. You know what grinds my gears... Manny, I am appauled at what you are suggesting. You are saying that all the contestants, and I mean all of them have cheated. Im saying this because everyone's votes have dropped, so I guess everyone has cheated. For the record, thats not the case and you dont know what you are talking about. ALL contestants have worked hard, reached out to family, friends and fans to get their votes and you have no right to suggest otherwise. Anyway I guess I wasn't worth it for season 1, but there is still hope for season 2. I won't let anyone or anything stop me from achieving my goals..Well, my question is, do my 942 votes counts towards Season 2?? BTW, why is Jessica Sanchez all of the sudden in like the 3rd page of FINALISTS. Last time I checked, she had over 12,000 votes & now she has 1,800?? whaaaatt!! I just think it's so sad after all the hard work that she & other people have done. I honestly feel I deserve to be in the finalists. As I kept on saying, the votes has been reset as TPS Season 1 ends, and some contestants has been reset to the votes they really deserved. So you're still lucky you still have your 431 votes as some of the more unlucky contestants were back to zero. Don't frown, this simply means your 431 votes are bonafide and the one that you deserved. You're still lucky... see yah in Season 2!

As a matter of fact, I find it interesting that some of my posts, not only at Total Popstar but in any other site are getting controversial, and I must thank you for giving out what's on your mind. But you must understand that being controversial has a lot risks and responsibilities to deal with. For one, the questions you embarked on me might be misunderstood by people, and I'm just cautious that I'm making counter-comments, either justifying or defending the validity of my posts which might affect my line of work. I must say that many entities (talents, artist, and mere people) are depending much on my works, and if I fail it would affect them too. I'm not only protecting myself, but protecting those who are connected with me. So I hope you understand why I'm critical with my posts and querries. If I ever used some words, I see to it that I chose them properly. If somebody misunderstood them, then they might have taken that literaly. But I must say that words might have a hundred or a thousand meanings. And sometimes, words are not the thing it symbolizes: SCROUNGE - BEG, but what I really meant is "TO SOLICIT" votes, to exxagerate as to beg akin "to ask for more" (some of them which I find desperate to qualify akin to their words as PLEASE VOTE FOR ME AS I NEED TO GET TO A THOUSAND, check others' comments here or at YouTube-Total Popstar links. First....I did not realize we were having an argument !! I simply asked you questions about your choice of words in a recent post. I did not question your credibility or your knowledge in your field nor your reasons behind doing what you do. I do not have a "profile" on this site as I am not a contender for this title and never professed to be. I am here as a supporter of the contestants I favor. I have no need to "show you what I've got" as I am not on the market (my shot at that is looooong gone! LOL !!) If you have been offended by my questions than I apologize...that was not my intent. blueyedsongstress -- I don't really need to promote myself or my business because I am not earning any profit for it. And I don't need to promote myself or my business, because I already gained trust and confidence from those people i've been with or been helping through the years. What would I gain for doing that? For one, I'm not after the profit (though nice people are giving credits or token for my works), but personal achievement. Peoples trust and appreciation is more important in my line of work as I am into public service in my own right, and i'm not connected to any big companies. So my job relies much on skills and technical knowhow (sometimes, I work night and day equivalent to 8 hands and minds--manpower), and that's what I'm doing for years. What would I gain? It's really in fullfilling my goals and mission, ideals and convictions that makes my life ticks. And like a clock, every single second is significant for me, so I don't really have time for arguments like this. I'm only giving out my opinions because this is what I think is right and beneficial to all. As I have said, it's imperative for me to sign my comments with my studio loga and site to identify myself, because I was considered in the past as "bogus" or a stalker for helping a contestant friend of mine here at Total Popstar. As for your profile, I can see you had no personal info written in your profile or photos nor any video. I think you should identify yourself properly and be credible yourself before you post any of your critical comments such as this.... I find it unfair that I've laid out all my cards (my identity, works and my life) and you are starting an argument that questions my credibility. Manny obviously you have twisted my words. My comment of "campaigning" was directed as an alternative phrase for "begging" , as you put it, for certain contestants. It was NOT directed at YOU. And it's really up to the visitors of my profile if they would like those videos or not. IThose videos ar not all about me. They're all about the talents I am supporting. I only created those videos and edited their songs for promotional purposes here at TPS, at YouTube, and embedding them on the websites or blogs I'm creating...

BLUEYEDSONGSTRESS -- I have posted some promotional videos on my profile, and as with any others' videos, some contestants are posting comments on it and even voting for me even if i'm not a contestant. They' were asking me to do the same. I'm not saying that they are begging for votes, because they asked for some support politely. And some of them, who have less than a thousand votes really are deserving to qualify in the finals.... But in some others videos however, some contestants (I don't want to mention anybody), were asking for more support that they actually needed. Some even commented that "they are hoping to get to a to a thousand votes to qualify in the finals". I really hope that this competition would be a friendlier, with contenders pulling themselves up for the benefit of the many. But some even commented negative things (again, I don't want to mention anybody) against a contestants who had made it to the finals... Or I might have to say that some of them envy what the others had achieved. Isn't it a sign of insecurity. i'm not saying all, but I said some, based on my observations, are really having a hard time. And votes means so much to them to qualify in this series. Check other past episodes and find out. I'll leave it up to you to ponder. As for any other contestants you are relating into like Jessica S., we don't have proof for that other than mere observations or hearsays... Or do you have any? Again, I'm saying this because Imyself am promoting some talents not only here at TPS, but in every site andf blogs that I'm gotten into, and I'm using all my God given resources to do that free of charge. The show is not so much the problem as the contestants that are randomly going through everyone's videos and rating them way down. I watched closely off and on this morning, and it was brutal, to see all the new uploads being rated to a 0.00 after 2 mins. up from a 9.99 This system has to be revised before your next season, or it's going to blow all out of proportion.

To Kyle N... It is proven in the past that passwords and accounts can be hacked... I know this discussion is getting nowhere and imay not bet relevant to TPS, but I might have to justify my point. Doing some research, I came across to a news on hacking teller/ ATM machines using mp3 players, and that's just an example of a clever innovative hacking. Others have hacked analog celfones in the past (the 90's) using their celfone monitoring capable police scanner radios and computers. And with the vast introduction of surveillance and other amazing gadgets, it might take just a few turn of a screwdriver or a good solder joint to modify some gadgets to produce a good hacking machine (too exaggerated eh). What I'm trying to say is that, due to some contenders' strong desire to qualify, they might do something fishy like hiring some real good technicians to do the manipulating of votes to get to 1000. Text votes can easily get you to 1000, just invest on some big prepaid cards or pay large amount to celfone service providers. Kyle, I know you're good at programming and IT, because it is your job. But it really pays and try to consider these things. It won't hurt to do a little research... Thanks!!!

Kyle N.... Just a way of note, I'm just curious: If what you said about voting is true, then why many good singers I find here at TPS with less than 1000 votes aren't featured. Are those only with 1000 votes are really qualified? I've seen many contestants here either scrounging or begging for votes, and I pity them. I guess some (or most) of them are the ones who are dedicated or commited to their own career. Some of the newer ones might be dreaming to be part of entertainment industry all their life! I think this singing career might have been the most important thing in their life, and most of them loved singing above anything else in this world. Many of them, the newer entries, are good enough for me (my own preference). But sad to say, they're just too late to enter this contest and not that popular to get to 1000. Is it really necessary to get 1000 votes to get to the finals, and chosen to be on the Top 6? Tsk, tsk, tsk... What a pity for those late entries... And I pity those who cannot afford to promote themselves, as this might requires great deal of connections, money, efforts and energy... To those deserving ones, if I had ample of time I could have just given all the support you need. But unfortunately, I would have to resign from my job to meet all your needs and my provide extra time for all of you (LoL)... I just wish luck to all of you in the next TPS season in case you doesn't make it in this series. There's time for all of us, and for all our careers. It's just a touch of fate and opportunity... @Manny I'm not sure huh.... glitches? Something going on, I don't know about? Votes can't be glitched (one vote per IP). I'm sure they keep backups of all vote counts and I haven't heard anything about the site being hacked. But I don't think they even pay attention to ratings, voting, or hit counts for their final decisions anyway (Andrew or Annete could just say lillemy has some great talent and charm. I'm texting her in! ...that would be nice because she really does have the stuff). **** All those stats are really just for us and to show that they are serious and can promote themselves! View by Hits? ....really not a good way to view contestants here. $$$ Again judges know what they are doing and they are primarily looking at the talent and the charismatic charm required to keep any Pop Star in front of the people who buy music. No charm? ...you aren't going to sell many records. No talent? ....well you for sure aren't going to sell any records. Can't sell them, without both of these ingredients. That's why talent sure can sell some records, but it's that magnetic smile and personality that will sell Millions in any language around the World! :D

To blueeyedsongstress, and to TOTAL POPSTAR... I think the best way to solve the so-called "glitches" in this competition is to totally eliminate the ONLINE VOTING, TEXT VOTES, and RATING SYSTEM as a basis for qualifications: POPULARITY versus SINGING TALENT. As I have observed, there are outstanding or deserving newer contestants/ entries who might not be given their fair chance, because they couldn't meet the 1000 votes requirements. Even if TPS has fixed their voting/ rating system and has enforced stricter measures, some real good hackers might force their way to break into the system, and do the same thing as before. Don't get me wrong guys, I'm just getting into the scene and being realistic. Crazy, but if Banks and Federal site accounts can be hacked that easy, and so does our TPS voting and rating system. This are glitches that we have to compromise and consider with the advent of greater technology. Here's my suggestion for the next 2nd Season of TPS: Why not just pick the TOP 100 Contestants based on their talent and not by mere popularity. Just give all contestants a deadline for submission of all their videos, say a month or two prior to the 'elimination', and then choose among them the TOP 100. Then from that 100 contestants, you can stream down to TOP 6 FINALISTS. I think that would be fair enough and risk free...

I totally agree, I like most of Total Popstar episodes, and this Mini-Episode 5 like most others blew me away! The contestants has done their best renditions based on their chosen genres (pop, rock, RnB, etc.) While some of us aren't familiar with all music styles, I can tell that the contestants featured herein has exerted their best efforts, so congratulations fo a job well done! I normally doesn't give out my personal choices as I might not good or credible enough in judging singing competitions, but for this particular episode, I can't help myself for picking-out two contenders: Taylor M. and Olivia T.... TAYLOR M., for good reasons has a powerful voice and music style akin to Coco Lee, Celine Dion, and Lara Fabian. I like the way she belted the song, and whew, what an emotion! Her "STORY TELLING" of the song, once again, totally blew me away!!! And, OLIVIA T., She's good in stylizing, best suited for most RnB's. She's my example of a TOTAL PERFORMER with a total package of having both TALENT and BEAUTY. No wonder she got many fans and followers at YouTube. I havent checked her YouTube channel yet, but as far as I can tell in her entry in this particular episode, she's receiving the same recognition and citations at YouTube.... I am joining the ranks applauding the TPS contestants/judges/p roduciton crew/etc.. Great job discovering all talent that walks among us. I only hope that this season will prove to be a "learn from our mistakes" type of journey and that all the glitches (especially in the rating system) will be corrected and SOME sort of security measures will be put into place to stop all the down-rating and contestant bashing. I think Ive seen more talented people on here than on American Idol. Hats off to EVERYONE in this competition for taking your dreams and going after them. Its not an easy thing to do. TPS. I must agree with the judges I was very impressed with all the shows . I've enjoyed the great talented people on this show. Ever since I found out about the show I have been hooked. I know the judges really have their work cut out for them, There is so much talent here i'ts got to be really tough to decide who will be the final six. I'm glad i'ts not my job. To all the contestants great job and no matter what happens here never give up your dreams. All of you deserve a big round of applauds and I am the first one to do that. You are entitled to your own personal choice and preference, but please do respect others' choice as well. We are not bonafide judges in this show but mere supporters or viewers. So we better not be biased with our comments. We can post our observation or views, but to protest or question the judges preferences or critic, better tell that to the TPS judges and ask them for their respective criteria for choosing the right contestant(s). I agree with the judges. The first girl was the best of this episode. She gave a lot of emotion and spunk. She had a look and she sounded pretty good. Olivia was good, but I agree with the judges. She does have pitch problems and she does a weird thing with her mouth when she sings. Way to go judges!!
